It’s the first day of winter. Warm up with a toasty, new Mallercast:

We talk about dog walkers with AirPods and a guy named Chet.

AirPods shipped to regular people
-In general, people like them
-If you bend over, they fall out of some ears
-Both Marco Arment and Jason Snell had them fall out when bending to pick up dog poop
-John Siricusa can’t wear them in the kitchen, hates tapping them in his ear

iPhone 6S battery replacement debacle
-My phone is finally updated, it was a pain in the neck
-Shannon had a rough time at the Apple store

Uber forced to take 16 self-driving cars off the road
-Cali DMV revoked registrations because Uber failed to apply for $150 permit
-DMV wants to work with Uber, says it can get the forms process in 72 hours
-Uber spokesperson said “We’re now looking at where we can redeploy these cars…”

Chet Kanojia is back in the news
-His 2-year old startup Starry Internet raised $30M in funding
-This company wants to sell high-speed internet through the air
-The Starry Station Wi-Fi router actually exists (it’s $249)
-Cool idea, but this just reminds me how much I liked Aereo
-Here’s my post from 2014 about Aereo’s Supreme Court battle
